Happy Friday!!!!!
Although I woke up a little later than I had hoped for, I still managed to give myself enough time to pack a lunch for work and make smoothies for D and I. I'm out of frozen peaches which are my go-to smoothie ingredient so I decided to use the frozen blueberries which I usually only eat with cottage cheese and honey. This is a simple yet satisfyingly filling recipe that is packed full of good-for-you carbs and not a ton of sugar. Beware, this is not for the carb-a-phobics. I add a generous serving of chunky (for texture) peanut butter as well as oatmeal for sustenance. HERE'S THE FULL RECIPE. I think almost any fruit mixed with banana and peanut butter are a no-fail. It's the perfect portion for me to finish on my drive to work and my appetite is suppressed until lunch time. I always tape a little note on the back door for D when I make smoothies to let him know to grab his on the way out and usually a special message for good measure.
Sadly, D is going up North this weekend to visit with his family. It's okay though. I have family coming in town too plus other plans with friends so I will be preoccupied with that. Tonight is First Friday @ The Wheeler Arts Center. I am doing wedding stuff with The Bride during the day tomorrow and then later, my cousin Courtney's 30th surprise party is (during the Butler game, big sad face ) at Bravo. Hopefully we move the party to a nearby bar after dinner to try and catch the second half. Busy weekend but I'm powered up and ready for it
