In January I was delighted to be asked to be in my best friend's (Julia) bridal party. The date has been set. The venue is booked. The countdown is on and the pressure is heating up. She had the talk with all of her bridesmaids. There are 4 of us total. We held a pretty intense brainstorming session to get ideas flowing about bridal shower, B/B party, dresses, budget, etc. I immediately went into crazy, organizational mode. My blood pressure immediately began to spike, also. But all and all, meeting #1 went very well. We've decided dates for all of the pre-wedding events including a theme for the B/B party. We browsed through some bridesmaid dresses. I think the wedding colors are red and pink with some other accents colors or textures. She is kind of unsure but has already used red for some of the decorations she ordered. The checkbook is feeling the pressure but I'm going to set a very strict budget to accomplish everything plus several other upcoming events.
Anyways, the next day, I was very excited, a bit overwhelmed but ready to start doing my research. D has volunteered to help me organize everything. Julia text me later to say she would like me to be the Maid of Honor. I am so honored and I know that I will do the best possible. She also asked me to join her and her mom to go wedding dress shopping next weekend. I know that I will probably tear up like a little baby but I am beaming with excitement. I've already marked the dates of some upcoming wedding expos which should be a ton of fun.
Hopefully I will remember to post during the wedding craziness because I have no doubt it will be dramatic, to say the least.
