Love It: My new armoire

Thanks to a generous donation from my mother, I finally have a grown up dresser armoire!!  I have been scouring the web looking for a decent priced dresser or armoire to replace the crummy one I bought from Target and assembled (by myself).  It is in great condition and made with beautiful wood.  The stain is very similar to my bed however I absolutely despise the hardware.  I am going to have to pry those suckers off and that will lead to a buff job.  I really want to paint it but I don't want to take away its integrity.  I'm hoping that I will draw some inspiration and advice from all the wonderful DIY furniture redo bloggers out there.  I'm waiting to take possession of it until after D and I move in July.  This is going to be a difficult job to tackle but I'm excited.  I also have a great vanity desk that needs to be painted.  I will post pictures. Thanks again mom, I love it and I love you!!

What is my obsession with blogs?

I guess it is the voyueristic nature that blogs manifest which lures me to them. What makes a good blogger? To me, it varies. Are there lots of pictures? Does the blogger have a sense of humor? Do they provide an intimate peek into their lifestyle?  For about 2 weeks, I was totally saturated in wedding blogs.  I was trying to help Julia find inspiration while also secretly planning my own future, dream wedding.  My latest kick  is home decor and interior decorating blogs in preparation for The Big Move. I googled home decor blogs and to my delight, found several that captured my attention. Today, I decided to take another look at a few I had emailed myself. I've been scrolling through one, Thrift Decor Chick, today that is very entertaining, informative and inspirational and the kicker is that she lives in Indianapolis!!! Her name is Sarah and she and it is awesome to see a good blogger in my neck of the woods instead of bigger cities like Chicago or San Fran. Now when she references where she frequents, I know that it is within my reach. I look forward to following her and hopefully getting sage advice in the future. D mentioned yesterday that his mom and I can handle all of the decorating!! ChEESy smile :D
