Love it: Andy D on Metromix

Andy D showing Ben some lovin'
Several months ago, my friend Ben introduced me to a real hidden gem from the South side of Indianapolis, rapper/singer/performer/one-man side show act, Andy D.  We were all filming a commercial for Ben's pizza joint, Pasquales.  It was unscripted, bizarre, hilarious and Andy D stood front and center.  At first you might be a bit weirded out, confused, taken back by his outlandish persona (and wardrobe) but it eventually just manifests itself into intrigue, fascination and raw entertainment.   He's unabashedly overweight but doesn't let that stop him from displaying his over-the-top, sometimes insanely skimpy attire.  His music is a unique blend of electro rap, grunge, pop on acid.  His music reminds me of a slightly tamer version of Mickey Avalon.   He is a true show man with a super, high intensity personality and stage presence.  I just came across a great feature on him on Metromix (here's a link to the full story).  If you are sick of going out and hearing the Billboard Top 40 on repeat and instead are wanting a night of cheap, pure entertainment, I highly suggest figuring out where his next appearance is.

Also, the April edition of indy Planet is now available online so check it out.
