I am more determined than ever to keep up on the healthy train. I do not want to sacrifice flavor though. Last night I decided to improvise a meal. I was in the mood for some Asian food and had just enough ingredients to get the job done. The main protein was 3/4lb package of thinly sliced top sirloin that I got on discount from Marsh for about $3. I marinated that in light soy sauce, sesame oil (this is the secret ingredient but go lightly on that), fresh minced garlic and crushed red pepper flakes. I cooked the marinated beef in a skillet first and then set aside on a plate with a paper towel (to soak up the grease). Next, I threw in every veggie I could find in the fridge into the same skillet and splashed the pan with some sherry cooking wine and covered for about 10-12 minutes. Afterwards, I reunited the beef with the sauteed vegetables and paired that with same sticky rice. I garnished with chopped scallions and added a generous dose of Sriracha sauce. I called it my Korean Beef Stir Fry. Nom Nom Nom! My kitchen smelled awesome! For the full recipe, click here.
a-ju ma-si-sseo-sseo-yo!! <<it was delicious - in Korean>>
I am so disappointed that I didn't take pictures along the way ((bad blogger, bad!)). I have left overs which I know will be even better but I don't think they will be photograph worthy. Shucks, better luck next time.
